Art Attack

This weekend a buddy and I decided it was about time that we started to get back into silkscreening. On Friday night we started to make our designs that we were going to put on A1 sized posters. We didn’t really think to look into silk screening that much and figured it was going to be pretty easy. Once we got the designs done we made a ghetto setup to expose our transparencies onto the screens. While our setup did end up working, we really should have had a second light as the screens were not evenly burned. Even though we didn’t decide to do posters the designs turned out completely different than we thought and we printed them up on some tees. This is the final tee that I made. Wicked!

MINDFIELD

After (rough guess off the top of my head) 8 years Alien Workshop is back with their follow up video to Photosynthesis– my favourite skate video of all time. A lot has changed in that amount of time. The team now is not so much east coast philly influenced and has spread over to the west with skaters like kirchart and salazaar. While some east coasters may feel like this made Alien lose its feel, I think it was a worthy trade for such an awesome team. Last night was the premiere at Tinseltown that I couldn’t make, but I can’t wait to watch it. Here’s an old clip from Photosynthesis in the meantime.

Someday…

I will know that I’ve officially made it in this world when I own one of these. This Luca Brenta 38 footer is officially the coolest sailboat I’ve seen. I’ve found one for sale for $385 000 so it is a slight step-down from my previous goal of the Wally 80′ at around $7 million.

Go!

So my portfolio is up right now so go check it out.

Now that it’s over with, I’ve got lots of experiments I want to try out. So after a short deserved break for christmas and such I will be back in a bit with hopefully a more frequent posting schedule. Be on the lookout for scintillating posts on personal projects, music I’m working on, my opinionated point of view on world news, and posts about topics that I think need to be posted on every single design blog out there!

Warm Up Show - December

Well ever since I sold out and got rid of my turntables for some cash I’ve been wanting to get back into djing. Lately I have been playing around with digital djing software which you can do some pretty cool stuff with. You don’t have nearly the same amount of control as you do with records but considering this setup didn’t cost me much and I’m not djing for anyone I’ll let that slide.

I’m still getting the hang of it but I threw together a brief little mixtape. I plan on making a new one of these every month or two depending on my schedule. This one is more of a 80’s inspired dance comilation. Well….Here it is..
